The other day I was discussing my amigurumi addiction with Lauren. “I have to stop,” I said. “It’s getting out of control. Bella doesn’t need anymore little hippos, pumpkins, vampires, cats, etc.” She suggested that maybe I start giving them away. Aha! A giveaway! And just in time for Halloween!
What the winner will get: This cute amigurumi candy corn, which is totally fat free and has zero calories! It’s crocheted out of soft acrylic yarn and stuffed with polyester fiberfil. Eyes and mouth are embroidered on, so it’s safe (and washable!) if you want to give it to a little one. It’s about three inches tall and two inches wide at the base.
Here’s the skinny (ha, ha): Leave a comment before Wednesday, midnight CST and tell me about your favorite Halloween treat. M will draw a name out of a hat on Thursday and I’ll announce the winner on the blog.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, my favorite Halloween treats are mini twix bars.
Did you make something yourself? Post it here!
Okay – LOVE that candy corn! And although I would love to suck up and tell you that I, too, love mini twix bars, and will send you a bag, they would never make it from FL (unless you wanted one giant gooey twix bar in a bag)!
My very favorite Halloween treats are related to the candy corn – those little mounds of processed sugar – Brach’s (gotta be Brach’s) candy pumpkins. And now that I have introduced them to Wyatt and Grace, I have to hide them so I can keep more to myself!
Happy Halloween!
That is really cute!
I am guilty of sneaking out all of the twizzlers from my kids’ halloween loot. Love those!
when I was a kid we used to get these popcorn balls from our neighbors, but I haven’t gone trick or treating in a lonnnng time (Lukka’s first year is this year!)–I think STefan and I iwll be snatching all his snickers!
Cute candy corn!
So far I have just looked at the amigurumi patterns and not tried any (mostly because I am crochet-challenged). I think my grand kids would love any of them, so I will probably will have to try my hand at it. As for my favorite candy, I think this Halloween when I am pawing through the grand kids’ trick or treat bags I will be looking for those little snickers bars. :)
I eat candy in this order:
Fruity chewies like starburst or laffy taffies.
Carmel ones, like carmel, twix or milky ways.
KitKat Bars and 3 musketeers.
Solid chocolate type bars.
Last resort: Snickers or the generic mix cheapie candies.
Candy corn, hands down. I just bought a bag this weekend in Nashville and then left it there (on purpose) so Anne could finish it off. Which she did before my plane landed in Lincoln. Here’s my favorite candy corn moment: nursing Ali (who was born in early September) during middle of the night feedings, while I munched on candy corn and rocked her.
Something tells me that Brach’s isn’t going to make that into a promo.
What a sweet candy corn!
Even though candy corn is traditional, I’m afraid I’d have to go with CHOCOLATE!
The day after Halloween…when all the little gremlins went to school, there was a mysterious disappearance of chocolate (anything) from Trick or Treat plastic pumpkins! Hmmmm…..
Guess who forgot to post something AFTER you reminded me. That’s right. I went home after knitting and promptly fell asleep. I’m such a grown up!
