It was too cold and dreary to go apple picking today. Bella and I are making granola instead.
picnics in the park
Today was our second picnic lunch this week. Now that the weather is cooling off, we’re trying to get as much outside time as possible. I hope the weather holds out for a few more. We’re loving Nebraska’s early Fall.
today…
Today I did not watch the news or any special coverage from nine years ago.
Today I gave my daughter extra hugs and kisses.
Today we colored, read books and played with dinosaurs.
Today I told her I loved her at least a million times.
Today I felt fear, sadness, shock, terror and loss all over again.
Today I remembered how our country can unite as Americans.
Today I am grateful for the brave passengers on Flight 93, who may have saved hundreds of lives in Washington, DC (including mine).
Today, and every day, I thank them.
giant ragweed
This nasty weed greets me every morning my daughter goes to nature school. It’s a little taller than me, so I’m guessing it’s around six feet tall. Six feet!
Here’s a view of the walkway to school. Bella is that pink blur at the end of the path. She’s just over three feet tall, to give you some perspective.
back to school FINALLY!
I don’t know who is more excited. Bella can’t wait to hang out with her friends and I can’t wait for a little time to myself.
nature school open house
Bella will be in school every morning this year. She’s headed back to last year’s school for three days and going two days at a local park preschool. Last week we went to an open house and she didn’t want to leave. I’m guessing she’s going to really enjoy it.
q: are lions carnivores or herbivores?
a: Most lions are carnivores, but Leo The Paper Eating Lion is a papivore. (paper-vore)
bella’s first trip to morrill hall
I have a feeling we’ll be spending a lot of time here in the future.
beep, beep
Someone is getting a little too big for the play cars at the Ager Center.
