Yes, I am that person standing out in the cold in her jammies taking pictures of the sky at seven in the morning. Something this beautiful deserves the effort, don’t you think?
I’ve saved it as a desktop background. Feel free to download and share.

I spied this little bat over the summer in Kearney, Ne. It was the only one I saw in all of downtown. Not sure if there is a meaning behind it or not. Google couldn’t give me any answers.
It makes a nice desktop background for October.

I’m still going through my flower pictures from last summer. One of my favorite flowers is the daisy. I like how the petals curl under on this particular one. They seem so graceful and relaxed.
My laptop desktop is littered with screen shots and icons. This pretty flower gave me the incentive to finally clean things up.

These are really flowers from last summer. I’ve been going through my nature shots from last year and I have a lot. I’m going to turn some of my favorites into desktop backgrounds and start “pinning” them to the blog.
I’ve also started a new category called “pins” with the thought that over time, I’ll create my own personal version of Pinterest-like inspiration.

You may have heard we had some severe weather in the Midwest last weekend. I love taking pictures of the dramatic clouds, but these storms were different. The sky was cold and gloomy all day, so I grabbed my camera and tried to focus on the rain.
First I tried freezing the raindrops in motion. I sat in the garage for cover, but there wasn’t enough light to get a high enough shutter speed. Then I went on the deck, where I thought there would be more light, but had the same issue.
I decided if Mother Nature wouldn’t work with me, I’d have to work with her. I lowered my shutter speed and focused on showing the raindrops in motion. I managed to capture two droplets and show the water bouncing off of the wood. Even though the day was mainly gray, the trees in the background make it look bright and spring like.
I love this photo so much, I resized it into a desktop background. Feel free to download and share.
{this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. Join in the fun here.
I resized this beautiful sunrise into a desktop background. Feel free to download and share.
I find this time of year difficult. I love Autumn. I can’t wait for bright red and yellow leaves, crisp breezes, wool scarves and pumpkin soup. I have to stop and remind myself that the last few weeks of summer are also wonderful:
I’m noticing the soft grass between my toes, the lush green trees on the horizon and the brilliantly colored flowers that are still in bloom. I’m trying not to wish it all away in anticipation of the next season. It will be here soon enough.
I made a desktop background with my little mantra as a daily reminder. You are welcome to download it here.
